Description

Client: Mr. Ali Al-Marri.

Project Description:

The project comprises a residential tower of 30 floors. The ground and first floors house the common facilities such as a health club, billiard room, swimming pool, a cafeteria and a business center.

The upper floors contain three types of apartments, one for two bedroom apartments, one for three bedroom apartments and one for three bedroom duplexes, the two basement floors house the car parking, in addition to the use of the neighboring land as an underground parking and garden at street level.

The work comprises the design of a storm-water drainage system and an irrigation system. In coordination with the architect, the tiled area around the tower slopes toward the planted area to drain the storm-water onto single sized gravel then seep through corrugated plastic perforated pipes wrapped with filter geotextile.

The perforated pipes are connected to PVC drain pipes to discharge water to a storm water storage tank in the basement. Water is pumped from the storm water storage tank through HDPE pipes with diameters ranging between 25mm to16mm to irrigate the planted area using water taps. Pipe carrying clean water also feeds the tank incase if the tank is empty for irrigation.
