Natural ecosystems, which have a fairly complete species and population richness, should be maintained on large areas as the basic foundation of the wealth of the biosphere. Medicinal plants are one of the core values of biodiversity. In modern medicine, medicinal plants have attracted increasing attention of scientists. 40% of the 3000 drugs, used by native medicine, are produced from medicinal plants. Each year their number increase. Medicinal plants are often preferred due to their low toxicity and the possibility of prolonged use without manifestation of side effects. - Methodical recommendations for the conservation of species diversity of rare and endangered medicinal plants are developed.
- A database of medicinal plants based on GIS technologies is established.
