DESCRIPTION
In order to respond to legal requirements, the Sewage Disposal Concepts (Abwasserbeseitigungskonzepte, ABK) of the authorities responsible for wastewater treatment had to be finalised until 30 June 2008. The Sewage Disposal Concepts define the type and extent of sewage disposal and treatment in the respective municipalities. As part of this project, 7 small municipalities (joined in the inter-municipal association of Lindelbach) were assessed regarding the future approach of sewage disposal and treatment. These municipalities currently operate decentralised solutions of wastewater treatment. Work on the update of the Sewage Disposal Concept included a technical and commercial evaluation (feasibility study) whether the decentralised treatment solutions will remain to be more beneficial in the future, as opposed to a connection to the centralised sewer network / WWTP.
