Description

The global objective of this Call for Proposals is to contribute to the diversity of cultural creation and promote a culture of Human Rights: Revolution meets the Arts! This objective will be pursued by funding high quality proposals with an important visibility and impact. The priorities of the call are twofold:

1. Promotion of Cultural Cooperation The proposals should develop the capacities of the cultural sector and of its actors in Egypt in a free and innovative way. More specifically, the proposal should enhance the Egyptian contemporary artistic production / distribution and its connection to other regional and European artistic trends. The actions are to be organised in a way to enhance access to culture throughout all the country.

2. Promotion of a Culture of Human Rights Proposals should contribute to a culture of Human Rights and especially freedom of expression. In particular, proposals should take into consideration the recent political developments that unfolded recently in Egypt and build upon them. This is to be met through artistic means: the proposals should not seek primarily the advocacy and defence of Human Rights.
