Description
Name of Client: WWF, GEF and UNDP.
The project objective is to ensure the protection unique biodiversity in the region through assisting local people in building sustainable options for livelihoods and environmental protection. As identified by the previous missions overgrazing was seen as one of the major threats to biodiversity in the region. Therefore, the project will focus on ways to stop and prevent overgrazing in the region.
Detailed Description of Actual Services provided: Carried out socio-economic analyses of land use types in the region that covers the north-western part of the country including Khuvsgul, Zavkhan, Uvs, Khovd, Gobi-Altai and Bayan-Ulgii provinces and propose recommendations to contribute to sustainable rural development through improving grazing land use.
