Description

In September, 2012 the Délégation Générale des Grands Travaux (DGGT) awarded OIA the project of electrification of rural areas of the Republic of Congo. The scope includes various deliverables including the survey, design engineering, supply of materials, erection and commissioning of 70 kms of 220 KV lines; 127 kms of 110KV lines; 505 kms of 33KV lines, 25 kms of 11KV lines and 120 KM of LV lines. The project also includes design and construction of various HV and MV substations. Project spread across the country in 07 departments (states) namely Cuvette, Kouilou, Niari, Bouenza, Lékoumou, Pool and Plateaux. The awarded project is worth US$ 70 million and OIA is currently in the planning phase of its execution. This project will ensure 85% access rate to electricity in urban areas and 65% in rural areas. (Currently urban area has access of electricity about 45 to 50% while rural area has barely 07 to 10%).
