Economic Research and Agricultural Policy Harmonisation (Strengthening Evidence-Based Agricultural Policy Advocacy and Harmonisation in Southern Africa)

Project objective

• To consolidate FANRPAN Network capacities and support to The Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP), The Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA), The Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) and the Southern African Development Community's Regional Indicative Strategic Development Plan (SADC RISDP)
• To improve agricultural productivity and food security of poor rural households: enhancing strategies for identifying vulnerable households and improve targeting for inputs support
• To improve information dissemination to strengthen policy advocacy in agriculture and natural resources.

• Conduct CAADP round-tables and development of COMESA Regional CAADP Compact
• Participation in regional and international meetings
• Input voucher action research and FANRPAN Household Vulnerability Index (FHVI)
