The European Commission if funding research on Demonstrator project on protection of the European Border and Seas through the intelligent use of surveillance. The aim of the project is protection of European seas and borders through the intelligent use of surveillance. PERSEUS will validate its target vision through two real-life demonstration campaigns in the Western and Eastern Mediterranean (for implementation in 2013 and 2014, respectively). PERSEUS represents the first demonstration project implemented by the FP7 Security Research Theme. The tasks of Ecorys in PERSEUS are mainly related to CBA/business case analysis of maritime surveillance systems and analysis of the procurement of existing and future maritime surveillance systems.
