Description

The Limpopo LED programme is a 34 million Euro initiative to support LED in the province until May 2008. The main objective of this programme is to support pro poor economic growth and job creation through an integrated approach. The management of the programme has been integrated into the existing local structures in Limpopo.

General objectives

This contract was geared to strengthening the institutional and human capacity of selected local government organisations in order to make LED in Limpopo more effective and sustainable.

Specific objectives

To develop and deliver a capacity building programme focused on developing and implementing local economic development strategies within the province taking the province and a specific district and municipality (x2) as a pilot exercise.

The main target groups were the provincial, district and municipal levels of government.
