Supply and delivery of training kits for university to Tunisia (RAF0059)
- Training Kit for Radiation Measurement Experiments at Universities
The Training Kit shall meet the following technical requirements:
3.1. The Training Kit shall include different detectors for alpha, beta, gamma and neutron detection, based on:
3.1.1. One (1) alpha particle detector, based on scintillator or semiconductor detector;
3.1.2. One (1) beta particle detector, based on scintillator, semiconductor;
3.1.3. One (1) gamma ray scintillation detector with gamma spectroscopy performance capability;
3.1.4. Beta/Gamma Geiger-Müller detector, energy compensated; and
3.1.5. Neutron detector.
3.2. Conversion unit for scintillator detectors shall be based on either photomultiplier tube (PMT), Silicon Photomultiplier (SiPM) or similar performance device;
3.3. The Training Kit shall include high voltage power supply with adjustable voltage for the different detectors;
3.4. The kit shall include a multichannel digital analyser (MCA) with a minimum resolution of 1024 channels for collection of measured signal and dedicated software with the following functionalities: Spectrum acquisition, data evaluation (peak search, peak area determination, background correction), energy and efficiency calibration, nuclide identification including MDA calculation and counter mode;
3.5. The connection of the data acquisition system to the acquisition computer shall be based on a USB interface;
3.6. The Training Kit shall include the software for the operation of the MCA and recording the measured energy distribution with analytical performance for alpha and gamma spectra;
3.7. The Training Kit shall include a digital oscilloscope for measuring the signals produced at different steps of the detection chain (can be included as application in MCA SW).
3.8. The Training Kit shall include nuclear instrumentation experiments focused on detection of different radiation types, application and principles of different detectors, spectroscopy of radiation, measurement of basic interaction of radiation with matter, radiation attenuation, measurement of detectors parameters and others;
3.9. Manual for exercises shall covering theory, practical experiments methodology, and experiment evaluation.
3.10. The Training Kit shall include a hard case for transporting and storing all components. The case shall ensure no equipment can move when placed inside for damage prevention
