Objective

Objectives At operational level, ENAR has 4 key objectives: • Develop an empowered & connected antiracist movement in capacity of campaigning for the needs of (potential) victims of racism; • Consistently advocate for the mainstreaming of an antiracism perspective in order to secure a transversal and sustainable place for racial equality within EU institutions, legislation, policies and processes, including ending the exemption of 3rdcountry nationality as a non-protected discrimination ground • Contribute to safe and secure lives for racialised people by addressing racist violence and racist police abuse of power through position papers, research work, advocacy and campaigning, by responding to racist crime and speech and by advocating for the implementation of rights-based and inclusive security and policing policies • Dismantle structural inequality by pushing for Member States to collect reliable and comparative equality data in line with fundamental rights and data protection standards, including EU-wide standards on National Action Plans Against Racism (NAPAR) that take into account intersectionality, multiple discrimination and specific forms of racism Expected results EU Institutions and Member States are increasingly aware of the pervasiveness of structural & institutional racism and engage conversation with civil society on potential ways for redress. Antiracism is more consistently mainstreamed in EU and national level policies, including in the areas of migration, policing and securitisation, with an increased feeling of safety and belonging for racialised people. Public and private employers, including the EU Institutions, implement concrete measures to reduce the employment gap for racialised people in their own structures. ENAR reinforces resilience of its members and the solidarity between CSOs working on different forms of racism, as well as with the broader equality/social & climate justice movement.
