Objective

EWL's objectives for 2020 are to: 1.engage EU Institutions to demand that the EU puts women’s rights back at the heart of its political project, in line with EWL’s demands in several policy areas 2.ensure strong contribution of EWL in Beijing +25 3.celebrate the successes of the women’s movement on the EWL’s 30th anniversary 4.design and approve EWL’s new Strategic Framework. Expected results: •EWL’s demands for an equal, inclusive and democratic Europe in various policy areas are kept high on the political agenda at EU and national level; •Increased political commitment for a new full Strategy for Equality between Women and Men; •Members were actively and effectively engaged in the process towards Beijing +25; •The future EWL Strategic Framework is approved by the General Assembly, incorporating learning from the past 30 years and the strategic review. Main activities •Advocacy & monitoring of policy developments to influence improvements in policy formulation •Engaging with EU institutions, national governments, international organisations to ensure wider support for women’s rights •Networking & alliance building to strengthen political discourses and collaborate around women’s rights •Campaigning & capacity building on policies for socio-economic rights, women in decision-making, violence against women •Externally disseminating information to raise awareness and engage a broad audience into action •Resource mobilising & capacity building of members to ensure engagements and multiplier effect •Addressing the diversity of women’s needs to make the EWL an even more diverse and inclusive environment. Activities will target: 2,000 women’s organisations across Europe; women and girls as final beneficiary of our demands; EU/national/international decision-makers; NGOs, CSOs; private sector; media; EU citizens. Deliverables: strategic documents, governance meetings, advocacy and campaigning, capacity building, work structures meetings, communication materials.
