Client: QATAR ALUMINIUM - QATALUM.

Services: OPERATIONS & MAINTENANCE / Strategic Maintenance Engineering.

Tractebel Engineering offered Maintenance Engineering Assistance for the construction of a 1,350 MW combined cycle power plant in Qatalum, one of the biggest aluminium smelters ever to be built (Qatar).

The power plant is composed of four gas turbines, their Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) and two common steam turbines. The plant was delivered under an EPC agreement.

In parallel to the erection and commissioning activities, Qatalum worked on a Maintenance Program. It included Spare Parts and Maintenance Tasks to be applied during the two year-guarantee period.

Within this process, Tractebel Engineering delivered Maintenance Engineering Consultancy Services related to the Spare Parts Identification, the preparation of an Initial Preventive Maintenance Program for the power plant, and assistance for the KKS codification.

Tractebel Engineering offered the client a unique expertise in power plant Operations & Maintenance, combined with multi-technical expertise in mechanical and electrical engineering and Instrumentation & Control.
