UNIT Istanbul entrusted Tractebel Engineering with the Bankable Feasibility Study related to the construction of the Yeni 850 MWe Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP). The plant is currently being built 50 km to the east of Istanbul, in the Marmara Region.
The BFS encompassed the following tasks:
Review of the market study.
Review of the local and international Environmental Impact Assessments.
Basic design of the CCPP.
Description of the project structure.
Composition of the investment and an economic model.
Project’s financing recommendations.
Tractebel Engineering joined forces with PricewaterhouseCoopers for the economic model based on the input of Tractebel Engineering.
Tractebel Engineering was selected for two subsequent missions:
A Technical Advisor mission to assist the client in the technical negotiations for the EPC and LTSA contracts (mission ended in November 2010). An Owner’s Engineer mission covering the realisation phase of the Yeni CCPP (mission to be completed in January 2014).
