URBAN SMS – Soil Management Strategy

Within the URBAN SMS project an international consortium developed a digital system for greater consideration of soil and its functions in spatial planning processes. ÖIR focussed on elaborating policy recommendations for a better integration of soil management into spatial planning legislation and soil conservation regulations. It screened regulations, guidelines and other instruments of the partner countries on their impact on and protection of soil and classified the instruments according to their influence on efficient and sustainable soil protection.
