Technologists, Inc. (Ti) provided the management, design, material, labor and equipment to construct facilities to support the Afghan National Police Border Police (ANP-BP) in Herat province, Afghanistan.
Prior to construction, Ti performed a geotechnical investigation, leach-field testing, water well capacity testing, and a topographic survey of the site. We prepared site paving, grading, utility and drainage plans. Prior to commencement of new work, Ti removed all unexploded ordnance (UXO). Ti additionally demolished all existing structures, and removed and disposed of all debris, concrete, and foundations.
Ti built an administration building with communications and arms rooms, barracks, dining (DFAC) with outside wood stoves, toilet, ablution, shower and laundry buildings, POL building, a warehouse, and vehicle refuel point.
Ti developed all on-site utilities and infrastructure. This included a water system (with chlorination), sanitary sewer system (with septic tank and leach field), site electrical distribution system (with secure generator fuel storage), trash collection point, and aggregate walkways.
Ti provided perimeter security during construction. Ti also instituted force protection measures consisting of masonry and stone perimeter walls, guard towers, a Primary Entry Control Point (ECP) with manually-operated sliding steel gate, two vehicle drop-arm barriers and strategically-placed vehicle barriers. Ti also built a Secondary ECP.
