Objective: CONCEPT: This chair will address the practical implications of communicating the EU within the current pandemic and disinformation contexts. The target will be internal (member states), but global, as well. It is designed to introduce participants to the EU public diplomacy, communication of Next Gen Recovery Funds, and fight against internal and external disinformation. It will provide in depth insights about: Disinformation and Fake News; EU Communication; The EU facing hybrid strategies (Brexit, EU elections, pandemic and recovery funds); and the current/future 2030 Horizon Europe context. In detail: OBJECTIVES: It is designed to foster the dialogue between the academic world and policy-makers with a goal of enhancing governance of EU policies. Moreover, it aims at promoting innovation in teaching and research and fulfilling the gap on EU communication and disinformation affairs. ACTIVITIES: (1) A yearly main 125 hours course split into different modules (2) An annual General Conference (3) A yearly Scientific Committee Research Meeting BENEFICIARIES: (1) Around 450 students attending to the main courses (2) 600-900 attendees to the General Conferences (3) EU stakeholders benefiting interactions from Conferences, platform or verification section (4) Academic Community in General and the 12 staff members and their 11 universities (5) Civil Society. Around 10,000 indirect beneficiaries derived from activities and outputs EXPECTED RESULTS: (1) In-depth excellent teaching on EU matters for future professionals. (2) Fulfilling gaps on EU research and disseminating scientific results (3) Mentoring the young generation of teachers and researchers in EU studies (4) Targeting policy makers at local, regional and national level as well as civil society OUTPUTS PRUDUCED: (1) An edited monograph (2) A minimum of 6 research papers in top indexed journals (3) A project web based central platform (4) A fact checking / verification section (5) A social media (Twitter) profile
