Description

Client: Ministry of Finance.

Project Manager: Peter Beard

The IMTF was responsible to the Board of LEC for the day-to-day management of the Lesotho Electricity Corporation (LEC) prior to privatisation. The IMTF was charged with bringing immediate improvement to both the financial and commercial operational performance of LEC, addressing a backlog of connections, improving the customer relations and implementing LEC Human Resources restructuring, undertaking a study for the optimal service area for a privatised LEC, as well as undertaking a study for access to electricity to identify future potential customers of the privatised LEC. Funding for the IMTF was provided by the World Bank.

Description of Services Provided: 
 PPA was responsible for providing the following to the IMTF project: The Managing Director of LEC, Technical assistance to the ITMF on matters associated with the future operations of the LEC.
