Objective:
Peer Voices - Shaking Structures for Equality wants to promote gender equality by deconstructing and fighting gender stereotypes and the latent prejudices in our society. We intend to achieve this goal by focusing on the portuguese youth, providing them with personal, social and political skills that enable dialogue and conscious action among their peers, making these young people active agents of positive social change in the world regarding freedom from gender stereotypes, gender equality, women empowerment and gender integration. The project will integrate 5 work packages, composed of different phases: WP1 - Management and Coordination WP2 - Building knowledge WP3 - Shaking the Structure - Advocacy WP4 - Shaking the Structure - Social Campaign WP5 - Building Bridges and Consolidating Structures The methodology applied in each WP will follow the logic of first opening space for the co-construction of learning - obtained through the sharing of experiences, reflections and discussions - and then going into the field, implementing actions that consolidate what was developed theoretically, and generate impact on its participants and stakeholders. Through the training actions and the final activities, which are intended to be tools for the development of knowledge and skills, and to have a multiplying effect among their peers, the project's objective is that they allow structures to be "shaken up", to question what is "normative", what gender stereotypes are and how they impact the various spheres of our lives, how we can combat them and ensure that opportunities are for everyone. As an innovative approach, We will put the power in the hands of the portuguese Youth and make their voices be heard through both our campaigns (Advocacy and Social Awareness) that will be developed for them and their peers by them. The project will create knowledge that can be replicated and provide a guide on how to shake the structures of our society to create a positive impact.
