Description
CLIENT: State Road Department Northrhine-Westfalia, Bonn.
After determination of the new road alignment of a 3 km long new by-pass of the federal highway B51, preliminary designs for the by-pass and seven bridges had to be prepared.
The road design envisaged a modification of the junction Bruehl of the motorway A 553. Due to the existing tight traffic infrastructure (bridges, roundabouts) at different levels that had to be integrated into the planning, the design of the new road and the bridges was very challenging.
For all structures specified architectural details had to be considered.
