Objective: IFOAM Organics Europe 2023 Work Programme will promote the key role of organic farming in contributing to the LIFE programme’s objectives “strengthen participation of civil society in the EU policy dialogue, support implementation and enforcement of EU environmental & climate objectives”. IFOAM OE will reinforce and create alliances in support of the implementation of EU objectives set out in the Green Deal, F2F, Biodiversity Strategies and their targets (25% organic land, 50% chemical pesticides, 20% fertilizers, 50% nutrient loss reduction), under attack after Ukraine war, supporting the Zero Pollution & Circular Economy Action Plans for a transition to a society with 0 GHG net emissions by 2050. The SGA 2023 will respond to challenges of the current socio-economic context, in line with the FPA’s objectives: Engage & build capacity of the organic movement (200 members in Europe) to integrate its demands in the EU policy debate (involve members, governance, agri-food stakeholders), highlighting the value of a strong community in the upcoming economic recession impacting the sector; Help policymakers to improve/implement policies, also by detecting and addressing emerging policy issues. IFOAM OE’s SGA 2023 Work Packages main contribution to objectives: WP1-Elect experts in internal structures; Capacity building of organic movement; Adjusted sponsorship strategy; High-level events; Positive communication on organic benefits WP2-Climate Task Force; Advocacy for agri-sector contribution to climate&biodiversity objectives WP3- Support members in evaluating CAP SPs implementation & advocate for higher env. ambitions WP4-Collect&disseminate scientific study on the feasibility of 25% WP5-Advocate for the organic approach to plant health & for new nutrient sources in organic farming WP6-Contribute to the revision of the 2nd & prepare position for the 3rd Horizon Europe WP WP7- Follow-up of the 2022 roundtable of organic canteens frontrunners; Regulation Guidelines update
