Description
The works to be developed are collected in a set of seven projects that give a grouping and uniform treatment of the complete river strip that runs between the mouth of the Caselas River, in Tui, to the Camposancos beach, in A Guarda, with approximately 40 Km of distance, seeking in the scope of action the preservation and restoration of natural functions and values and landscapes of the Rio Minho river strip.
The layout of the path is based on two main design requirements: the layout of new way, or the layout on existing paths. Routes have been designed with gentle slope that can be traversed easily and, thus, are accessible by more users, mainly those with reduced mobility.
The type section generally taken is 3 meters wide, with lateral gutter for water collection in the sections of clearing. Treated wood crossbeams will be installed in both margins. In those areas or points that need to allow vehicular traffic on the path, the pavement will be of overcoming cobble paving. In areas where the path runs near roads, or they get into, the path shall be provided with wooden bollards to prevent the invasion by vehicles.
Different structures are projected in the case that the land where the path is planned has flood areas, whether they are marshes, dunes, rivulets or rivers. In these areas the way will pass through wooden walkways of different features with a width of 2.5 meters.
As a general rule, the path will have urban furnishing, litter bins, benches, etc. Handrails were also placed in the path areas near important slopes. Some items of furniture require a contiguous and coordinated location, which eventually is reflected in a specific and integrated design of certain areas that will assume a role of Civic spaces. Throughout the action those Civic spaces are distributed, which will have specific trees, benches, bins, tables, information boards, etc. They all made from recyclable materials and low energy consumption.
