Objective:
The Programme strategy aims enhance the competitiveness of the EU agri-food sector and to increase exports of the EU food and beverage products to the
United Arab Emirates (the UAE) that is one of the strongest economies in the Middle East, regional trading and tourism hub. The Programme is proposed
by 2 legal entities – The Baltic Gastronomy Leaders and The Bulgarian Winemaking & Export Association, which are going to implement a 3-year
information programme for a basket of the EU produced food and beverage products in the UAE. The UAE is an attractive markets with promising prospects
for increasing imports of EU agricultural products due to continued GDP growth, population growth and strict dependency on imported food and beverage
production. Programme’s target groups - final consumers and food trade professionals. Programme strives to boost demand for the EU agri-food production
among the UAE consumers by promoting the EU produced agri-food products in terms of: quality and safety (EU food products comply with strict standards
and controls, and are traceable from farm to fork); authenticity (EU food products are authentic and benefit from protected designations of origin or
geographical indications); sustainability – EU pushes for more sustainable agricultural practices with special emphasis on organic production. This will be
achieved through the specific objectives: 1.Increase exports of the Programme‘s product basket from LITHUANIA to the UAE 2.Increase exports of wines
marked with PDO and PGI produced in the PGI region of Thracian lowland from BULGARIA to the UAE Programme employs a wide range of activities:
online channels (website, social media & online ads), activities directly addressed to consumers (tastings, shelf talkers, displays), B2B actions (trade fairs,
seminars, events for professionals, B2B trade visits). Budget of the Programme – 1 998 246 ЕUR.
