Objective:
Volunteer, Inspire, Engage (V.I.E.): this is the main motto of our European Network, the Alliance of European Voluntary Service Organisations. Through volunteering we aim, as Alliance, at fostering young people's participation in civil society; we encourage youth to play an active and responsible citizenship; we empower youth workers with skills and competencies for them to relate with young people on the national and local grassroots levels; we bring the voice of our members to the international dimension, and we involve them together with our young and active volunteers in the policy and programme initiatives developed in Europe. International Workcamps are the main volunteering tool that Alliance organisations use. These are short-term voluntary projects allowing young people to develop practical skills and be sensitized to values such as inclusion, environmental sustainability, gender equality, intercultural dialogue, solidarity, and human rights promotion. Our International workcamps' value is recognized by the EU Commission through the ESC programme, entailing this volunteering form through the Volunteering Teams. As Alliance we deeply believe in the importance of our role as a youth organisation and European network for our members. Do notice that at the core of our proposal stand our main goals: continue to improve as a Youth Network, as an active stakeholder in the field of youth, volunteering, and empowering learning mobility in Europe; contribute to the implementation of the European Youth Strategy; supporting the legacy of the European Year of Youth from 2022 with our activities; play our part in the common challenge of easing the social recovery that we all hope to see, after the pandemic experience and the ongoing armed conflicts at the borders of the European Union.
