Objective:
The project Future Skills for Vocational Education and Training in Europe (FUSION) aims at advocating EU policy reforms focused on Vocational Education and Training and work-based learning, and to foster the capacity building of VET organisations and professionals in key domain areas, such as the twin transitions, internationalisation and innovation. Through many grassroot activities, the European Forum of Technical and Vocational Education Training (EfVET) via the FUSION project consolidates a thematic backdrop of a series of events and initiatives involving a wide network of VET professionals, beyond its membership base, currently composed by more than 260 VET organisations, with over 2000 training centres across 35 countries. The events (e.g., conferences, seminars, policy debates and peer learning activities) are fully aligned with EfVET's Strategic Directions and foresee an active participation from representatives of the most relevant EU institutions with which EfVET frequently collaborates, maximising the impact and relevance for the EU policy and decision-making in VET. FUSION is carried out building upon EfVET internal initiatives (e.g., Thematic Teams, International Conferences, Masterclasses) as well as initiatives promoted in collaboration with other stakeholders (e.g., EU Regions Week, Lifelong Learning Week), aiming at promoting capacity building and collecting valuable inputs, to be shared with working groups of the EC's policy domain. FUSION brings together various essential elements of VET sector across Europe with one key objective: making VET recognised as a first quality choice of education, promoting a sense of pride about working and learning in VET. FUSION therefore offers the opportunity to foster the VET sector with a twofold approach: consolidating advocacy and policy activities, in the perspective of promoting a confederation by VET Associations in Europe, and promoting innovation, through various and rich peer-learning activities.
