Short description: LEADER enables people to help shape their living space on site. LEADER is financed from the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (ELER) and funds from the Free State of Thuringia.There are a total of 15 LEADER regions in Thuringia, covering the entire rural area. In each region there is a
regional action group (RAG), in which actors from clubs and associations, companies and agriculture, politics and
the citizenry jointly decide on the use of the funds.
The contracting authority of Working Group IV (employment and economic development) of the Thuringian State
Administration Office takes over the implementation of the contracting out of the regional management for 8
LEADER regions on behalf of the TMIL on the basis of the law against restraints of competition (GWB), the
procurement ordinance (VgV) and the Thuringian Public Procurement Act (ThürVgG).
