Description:
 The overall objective of the Assignment is to provide the Bank with the information, analysis and recommendations needed to comprehensively complete the Project. The Assignment will i) assess the current situation of transport (road, rail, maritime) corridors between Europe-Central Asia, ii) analyse corridors’ problems in terms of hard and soft connectivity, and iii) propose the most suitable corridors and related key projects, including soft measures.

In line with the EU requirements, The Action will have two objectives:

  • Identifying the most sustainable transport corridors connecting the Central Asian countries with the EU’s Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-), (through consultation with stakeholders and evaluation of the current situation of transport corridors in terms of hard and soft connectivity, using agreed methodology and criteria);
  • Proposing key actions for corridor enhancement, including for their prioritization based on a strict sustainability criteria, overall corridor development scenarios and considering operational and non-technical obstacles, based on a coherent and sustainable corridor development approach.
