Objective: The "GREEngaged Citizens" Project is an initiative promoted by the Municipality of Pinhel, Portugal, whose goal is to place municipalities and local entities at the center of climate action, transforming climate and environmental challenges into opportunities. In line with the objectives of the CERV program, the project intends to promote the exchange of good local practices with other European citizens around the thematic proposal through intercultural dialogue, give the opportunity to discover other European realities, reinforce active participation in their peoples and support a society based on European values such as solidarity and cooperation. The strong point of the project is the representation of a current issue, which is key on the EU agenda. In collaboration with 13 entities belonging to 13 different countries of the European Union: Holland, Slovenia, Spain, Italy, France, Malta, Greece, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Lithuania and Latvia; The project will be held over a period of 20 months by holding 6 events. During each of the events, there will be seminars, round tables, debates on the themes adopted, workshops, conferences with political representatives, case studies, exchange of practices, planning moments for future projects, cultural visits to museums, public entities, social and cultural, as well as foundations and NGOs with social purposes and documentary projections... which will have the objective of raising public opinion on the values of environmental protection, democracy, active participation, solidarity and cooperation. The project will have a strong impact both locally and at the European level, thanks to the cooperation of the partners and the citizens of the participating localities, together with the territory throughout the entire life process of the initiative.
