Description
Preparation of Detailed Project Report of North South Highway (Koshi Rajmarga-150km, Khandbari-Kimathanka-40km, Tamakoshi-Lamabager Road, 33 km)(P2), Sankhuwasawa and Dolakha Districts, Asset Management, Contract Management and Quality Control Project, Department of Roads.
Donor: Government of Nepal.
Road construction has been one of the most priority investment sector of Government of Nepal. Department of Roads is responsible for planning and implementation of road projects of national strategic importance. In recent years, government has given high priority in the overall development of road network covering all the geographic regions of the country. In this context, large amount of budget is allocated to construct and upgrade the roads as Terai Roads, Midhill highway, North – South road Corridors and Others.
Khandbari – Kimathanka is part of the Koshi Lokmarga which starts at Rani (Morang District) in Nepal India Border and ends at Kimathanka (Sankhuwasaba District) at Nepal China Border. Total Length of the section of Road is 150 Km.
Similarly the Tamakoshi – Lamabagar is a part of North – South Highway which start from Birttamod (Mohattari District) at Nepal India boarder andLamabager (Dolakha District) at Nepal China boarder. The total length of the section is 33.0 Km.
Within Khandbari – Kimathanka Road, 28 km trac is opened, 82 Km detailed engineering completed and detailed engineering survey and design of Tamakoshi- Lamabagar road is already completed.
The objective of this consultancy service is to prepare Detailed Project Report of the mentioned road section which includes technical, economic and environmental feasibility of whole stretch 150 Km for Khandbari – Kimathanka road and 33.00 Km for Tamakoshi – Lamabager Road.
The study includes following Components:
i) Preparation of Detailed Project Report including technical, economic and environmental feasibility of whole stretch of road.
Ii) Detailed Engineering Survey and design of 40 Km road (Part of the alignment).
Preparation of Detailed Project Report
Based on the outcome of the desk study and feedback on desk study report by the concerned in-charge of DOR, the survey team will verify the options proposed in the desk study in actual field situation. Local people will also be consulted as much as possible before starting the survey work. Finally, based upon the local people's opinions, desk studies report and actual field observation, the actual survey work will be started.
Sociologist will focus on collecting information related to socio-economy and traffic flow of the influence area. Highway engineer along with the hydrologist, environmental engineer, civil engineer and geologist will focus on engineering part of the study.
