Description
The overall objective was to prepare the Water Use Master Plans (WUMPs) of the three VDCs Maila Kalika and Mimi of Humla District under RVWRMP.

The specific objectives of this Project are:

to facilitate participatory mapping of all the water sources within the VDCs which are used or proposed for use in the VDC. The map also should consist of existing infrastructures which is necessary for the preparation of the VDC profile (e.g., houses, paths, schools, forest, rivers, ponds, agricultural land, etc.). GPS will be applied to locate all the sources and important structures of the existing water projects and thereby transferring them into GIS. The sub committee wise maps prepared during social assessment could be used as the resource information.

to facilitate the mapping of the water related needs of the people of all stratum and their the commitment towards it.

to facilitate the mapping of the hardship of the communities related to water.

to measure and describe all the water sources identified by the community during the social assessment.

to categorize all the potential water sources for possible application e.g., drinking water, irrigation(canal, pipe, pond, drip /sprinkle etc), multi use system application, small or micro hydro-electric power, cottage industrial use, recreational purpose, fish pond etc. according to their quality, capacity, reliability, accessibility, and suitability.

to recommend the possible water related development activities in the area on priority basis.
