Objective:

This project is focused on organizing international workshop for customs officers focused on the fight against excise tax frauds - mineral oils, tobacco (cigarettes) and traceability of tobacco products using the Track & Trace system. Purpose of this activity is for customs officers to be able to respond to new trends in fraud, with a focus on the fight against tax fraud and evasion of excise duty on mineral oil and the fight against cigarette smuggling. Application of knowledge gained during this activity is expected to contribute to increase the effectiveness of mobile customs supervision and tax supervision. Within this project 5-day workshop will be organized in October 2024 named “International workshop for customs officers focused on the fight against excise tax frauds - mineral oils, tobacco (cigarettes) and traceability of tobacco products using the Track & Trace system” Planned venue: Slovak republic, Nitra surroundings Number of participants: 36 Participating countries: Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic, Latvia The workshop is intended for customs officers of the Slovak Financial Administration (SFA) from the direct performance of duty which work at station of the customs offices, representatives of the excise department from the Financial Directorate of the Slovak Republic, representatives of the Criminal Office of the Financial Administration, customs officials of EU member states who specialize in the mentioned issue from Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary and Latvia (three representatives will be invited from each state, one for each area - mineral oils, tobacco and the Track & Trace system).
