Description

Description of Project:

USAID/Burma (Myanmar) requires analytical support to supplement its current portfolio of Democracy and Governance, national reconciliation, economic growth and health activities. This analytical support is aligned with the Democracy and Governance Project Appraisal Document primarily focuses on the overarching governance, political, and social environment in Myanmar, and the drivers of conflict impacting the implementation of development programs by USAID/ Burma. The activity enables the Mission to better address emerging issues, take advantage of opportunities, and react to unexpected political and economic events and social conditions. MKE has delivered research on pressing political, social and economic issues and collected data in all states and regions across Myanmar, in both GCA and NGCA areas, and remote borders which are affected by conflict. Reports so far have focused on reports on key issues on the socioeconomic and political context in Myanmar including national identity, economic growth, youth and culture, freedoms, political processes, elections, and infrastructure.
