U.S.-India Energy Cooperation Program (ECP) - Launched during President Obama’s state visit to India, the U.S.-India ECP is a public-private partnership between U.S. member companies and the governments of the United States and India. Organized by the U.S. Trade & Development Agency (USTDA) and industry, it was established to leverage private sector resources in both the U.S. and India in order to promote commercial development of clean energy projects, and to support the sustainable development of the energy sectors in both countries. The ECP Secretariat is based at the American Chamber of Commerce in India and functions as the focal point for identifying government and industry priorities and it recommends training programs
and technical assistance activities that can be implemented through the ECP. Since the formation of the ECP in late 2010, USTDA has supported several projects involving clean energy and smart grid technologies, including feasibility studies, pilot projects, reverse trade missions.
The DM team will meet with or conduct substantive discussions with U.S. companies interested in the renewable energy/energy efficiency/smart grid market in India, both prior to and during the team’s travel to India. At a minimum, the Experts shall travel to Delhi, Kolkata, Ranchi, and potentially one other city for 2 weeks in late winter or early spring 2014 to meet with prospective grantees as well as other sector stakeholders. The DM Contractor team will develop the budgets and terms of references (TORs) for four activities for USTDA funding consideration that would support energy sector projects in India and advance U.S. commercial interests in the country’s energy sector.
