Objective and Purpose of the Assignment
The objective and purpose of the assignment are to support Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India (GoI) in development of solar rooftop (SRT) market in residential consumer category (and/or other consumer categories as and when allowed by MNRE), through implementation of innovative business models. The market development should lead to deployment of capacities on-ground in select states across the country, and development of subprojects for financing under Solar Rooftop Investment Program (SRIP) multitranche financing facility (MFF) through financial intermediaries (FIs) – SBI and NABARD. The capacity development exercise should also cater to ecosystem development in terms of policy and regulations, monitoring, capacity building, project management, IT and digital tools, financing, and training of designated officials of FIs on solar rooftop sector. The ultimate output of the assignment is implementation of projects and to support MNRE, Financial Intermediaries (FIs) of Solar Rooftop Investment Program (SRIP), distribution companies (DISCOMs) and State Nodal Agencies (SNAs) and other stakeholders in market development of solar rooftop in India.
