Name of the project: Irrigation Schemes Development in Unyama, Namalu and Sipi Regions, Uganda

Title of the Bidding: Construction of Sipi Irrigation Scheme Infrastructure and Facilities in Bulambuli District

Summary of the purpose of the Contract: 

To provide for Construction of Sipi Irrigation Scheme in Bulambuli District. The Scope of Works entails:

(a) Construction of Diversion works

(b) Construction of Four bays of gated barrage (under sluice) 1.0m wide each with gates and operating platform.

(c) Construction of two 10.0 m long side spill weirs on the left and right side of the under sluice.

(d) Construction of an Intake structure with settling basin on the left side of the weir and on the right side without settling basin

(e) Construction of irrigation network comprising of: Lined main and secondary canals reaching the different zones in the command area, Unlined Tertiary and field canals distributing water directly to the irrigation fields; Unlined main, secondary, tertiary, field and interceptor drains so as drain low-lying areas

(f) Construction of Access and scheme roads

(g) Construction of Scheme buildings and facilities including an office block, residential buildings, storage facility, rice drying platform, cattle troughs, farm sheds, and sanitary units

Duration of execution of the Contract: 24 Months excluding DLP
