Objective:
SIC-SPAIN4.0 project will continue the mission of the Spanish Safer Internet Centre initiated in Feb. 2017, to enhance online opportunities while mitigating risks for a better, enriched, positive, and balanced online experience for Spanish children. The proposal´s priorities are the consolidation and enhancing of essential services (awareness and educational actions, helpline and hotline services), the strengthen of collaboration with strategic partners, and the contribution of the SIC to the ecosystem of policies and challenges regarding a safer digital space for children and a higher cybersecurity-aware and online safety culture. SIC-SPAIN4.0 will fortify the national consortium, gathering key stakeholders to develop comprehensive awareness campaigns, training programs and resources with an effective knowledge and best practices sharing among partners. The perspectives of youth will continue to inform decision-making through the youth panel, and Safer Internet Day event will be improved. Special attention will be given to the development of digital skills in cybersecurity for children, families, schools and professionals working with children, raising awareness about challenges and risks regarding technologies. The Helpline 017 will continue its continuous improvement, expanding its operation and visibility. Simultaneously, the Hotline will deepen its collaboration with Spanish Law Enforcement Agencies and the General Prosecutor's Office, reinforcing operations and contributing to the global fight against child sexual abuse material. Finally, SIC-SPAIN4.0 aligns closely with policies and legal framework aimed at safeguarding minors online, supporting the deployment of the principles of the renewed Better Internet for Kids (BIK+) Strategy and the prescriptions of the Digital Services Act. SIC-SPAIN 4.0 and the related laws and policies. The proposed actions engage critical stakeholders, solidifying Spain's commitment to a safer online environment.
