Detailed description of the project:
The project Green Digital Innovation Hubs (GDIH) in Algeria aims to strengthen the innovation ecosystem in Algeria’s agriculture and agri-food sectors. It ocuses on building linkages between key stakeholders, including SMEs, start-ups, universities, and government bodies, while boosting competitiveness in agriculture and agribusiness.
The Innov-Agro component supports innovation structures and players within Algeria’s agricultural sector to achieve this. A core activity involves delivering a Master Class on AI Innovations in Algerian Agribusiness during the African Startup Conference in December. This initiative is designed to enhance the capacity of policymakers, entrepreneurs, and support organisations to implement AI-based solutions, contributing to a green, digital transformation.
Types and scopes of services provided:
● Conducting desk research on the potential of digital and AI innovations in Algeria’s agriculture and agribusiness sectors.
● Preparing a Master Class side event on AI innovations during the African Startup Conference in December.
● Developing tailored PowerPoint presentations for AI use cases in agriculture and agribusiness and success factors, skills, and structures required for AI implementation.
● Conducting a mentoring and exchange event for start-up representatives and key actors.
● Documenting all deliverables, including final reports summarising discussions, session content, and recommendations for next steps.
● Providing recommendations to the Innov-Agro team to enhance the sustainability and impact of AI innovations in agribusiness.
