Description

Programme(s): Erasmus+ (ERASMUS+)

Project ID: 101180354

Topic(s): ERASMUS-EDU-2024-PEX-EMJM-MOB

Type of action: ERASMUS EMJM Unit Grants

Objective:
Photonics has emerged as a transformative force across various sectors, revolutionizing healthcare, communication, energy, security, and environmental monitoring and protection. The European consortium iPSRS unites four esteemed institutions (UJM, UV, UPEC, and UEF) with proven expertise in optics, photonics, and AI to leverage intelligent photonics for addressing critical challenges in security, reliability, sustainability, and safety. The newly established iPSRS EMJM programme aims to deliver a comprehensive education in intelligent photonics and its applications across these four focal areas. Master students benefiting from this programme will acquire a balanced mix of theoretical and practical training, including in-depth courses covering optics, photonics, AI, and related fields, providing them with a solid fundamental and experimental knowledge base. Students will be equipped to tackle today's new challenges in their academic research or industrial careers, including developing innovative tools for advanced manufacturing and imaging, predicting optical phenomena to design sustainable devices, and addressing needs in various application fields such as the advanced energy industry, anti-counterfeiting, and biomedicine. Additionally, students will engage in research projects in collaboration with industry partners to gain hands-on experience in applying intelligent photonics to real-world challenges and solutions. Furthermore, internships and placements within relevant companies and organisations will provide students with invaluable industry exposure and networking opportunities.
