Objective: """Reading is connecting..."" is an innovative project by Kreativni centar publishing, dedicated to bringing the richness and diversity of European children's literature to Serbo-Croat speaking countries. While centred in Serbia, the project extends its reach to neighbouring countries and the diaspora, reflecting a commitment to transnational literary circulation. At its core, the project seeks to inspire and encourage reading habits among children, particularly early readers. Through a comprehensive approach encompassing workshops and webinars tailored for professionals (including kindergarten and primary school teachers, librarians, and booksellers), as well as strategic content marketing campaigns aimed at parents and other family members, the project seeks to inspire influential adults to actively promote reading. Additionally, it equips adults with effective tools and strategies to use literature as a catalyst for meaningful conversations and bonding with children. Expert contributors, including psychologists, pedagogues, speech therapists, teachers,
environmentalists, and more, bring insightful perspectives from various fields. They play a vital role in crafting content for marketing purposes, while also contributing to healthy child development by exploring themes such as environmental challenges, social skills' enhancement, resilience, and self-confidence. Through workshops held in bookshops across Serbia, festivals, and schools, the project aims to reach children in remote areas. Translators will often participate in these events, contributing to the wider media outreach of the project, which is dedicated to raising the profile of translators. By nurturing connections with family, friends, teachers, nature, and literature itself, ""Reading is connecting..."" aims to create a rich and nurturing literary environment for young readers, leaving a profound and enduring impact on their lives.
