Topic: ERASMUS-SPORT-2024-SNCESE
Type of action: ERASMUS Lump Sum Grants
Project ID: 101184505

Objective: The project On: Sport In Nature, Good Nutrition and Young Hearts (O SIGN) aims to encourage all inclusive participation of European citizens from EU and other non-EU countries-including migrants from Ukraine, as one, especially in the European Week of Sport, in multi sport in nature races visible to the public; it aims to enhance volunteering in the various activities of the project and to raise awareness about the importance of an integrated approach: sport, being in nature and having a good nutrition, for healthy young hearts and living. Five countries are part of this consortium focused on organizing not-for-profit Sport events, as well as the related activities: Poland, Italy, Latvia, Republic of Serbia and Romania. All sport races will be organized in the popular green areas of cities, to ensure the visibility of the event, but also to attract grass root participation. In the same time, these popular locations will provide easy access to event arena and green transportation by public means will be encouraged. Green practices are embedded in all phases of the project. The target group consists of people of all ages and genders, various nationalities and minorities. The races of the events, among which park orienteering, mobile orienteering, trail orienteering designed for people with disabilities, running and other fun outdoor games, will be complemented by a digital platform where the project is presented, where volunteers and runners can enrol to events and where information about sport in nature, healthy nutrition when exercising and other related events (trainings, webinars) is updated. The O SIGN project is based on international cooperation, not only in terms of consortium project management and implementation, but also in providing opportunities to each country's volunteers and runners to be part of the events the other countries organize. In the future we aim to extend O SIGN events concept so that we reach internationally more and more participants.
