Objective: VIRTU-PEACE aims to bridge divides and promote peacebuilding in Palestine by leveraging the power of virtual exchange. The project directly targets 1,500 Palestinian youth from diverse geographical locations, enabling them to engage in facilitated online dialogues. These virtual exchanges will provide a safe space for participants to discuss sensitive topics related to reconciliation, build critical thinking and communication skills, and collaborate on community initiatives that promote peace. To ensure effective execution, VIRTUPEACE will train 1,000 facilitators, equipping them with the necessary skills to guide these crucial conversations. Beyond directly impacting participants and facilitators, VIRTU-PEACE will also generate valuable research and knowledge. The project will contribute to the fields of virtual exchange and reconciliation by studying the effectiveness of this innovative approach in the Palestinian context. The findings will benefit researchers, policymakers, and practitioners seeking new tools to foster dialogue and understanding in divided societies. With its focus on youth empowerment, community-based initiatives, and knowledge creation, VIRTU-PEACE offers a promising pathway towards sustainable peacebuilding in Palestine.
