Detailed Narrative Description of Project:

The project seeks to improve both the quality of, and access to, formal TVET in Lao PDR, focusing on certificate and diploma programs. Quality improvements include developing skill standards, improving curricula and training teachers in 4 priority skill areas: (i) construction and building trades, (ii) mechanical and machinery maintenance and repair, (iii) furniture- making, and (iv) basic business. Access and equity will be enhanced through the introduction of a voucher assistance training scheme and construction of dormitories. A key project focus is on increasing private involvement in TVET and achieving greater alignment between TVET and labor market needs.

Detailed Description of Actual Services Provided by your Company:
Preliminary logistics including project systems, documentation collection, data identification and work planning
Demonstrate effective and efficient management of all project inputs to deliver required outputs and outcomes to agreed standards
Develop national skills standards for priority areas
Develop improved training and curriculum packages
Enhance teacher standards and strengthen TVET teacher pre- and in-service training
Improved TVET Facilities
Improved vocational guidance, employment counselling, and employment placement services in TVET institutions
Develop a comprehensive TVET social marketing strategy
Develop and introduce a training voucher scheme for disadvantaged students
Expand access for remotely located students, especially females
Broaden access to certificate and diploma level programs
Strengthen capacity of NVCSDC permanent office including its corporate sector focus
Establish advisory boards with significant corporate sector involvement in TVET institutions
Design and introduce contracting scheme with private firms and SOEs for provision of in-company training for both teachers and students
Reform Policy, Regulatory and Funding Frameworks for TVET
Strengthen Management Capacity in DTVE and public TVET Institutions through utilisation of a Quality Assurance (QA) approach
Strengthen the TVET Information System
Establish a Labour Market Information System.
