Provision of consultations on BDS active involvement in the European and international systems for certification under project BG161PO003-4.3.01-0003-C0001 “Strengthening the standardization system in Bulgaria”, financed by the Operational Programme “Deve

The Project overall objective is to contribute to improving the competitiveness of Bulgarian enterprises in the EU common market through the development of the national standardization system within the national quality infrastructure, directly oriented to the needs of businesses and contributing to the effective functioning of enterprises

The current public procurement procedure is carried out in relation to the implementation of one of the project activities, namely “Ensuring the conformity of Bulgarian products and services with international quality standards through the integration of BDS in the European and international systems for certification”.

The activity contributes to the achievement of project Specific Objective 2 – Improvement of the quality and quantity of BDS services provided for the businesses in compliance with their needs through strengthening the administrative and technical capacity of BDS and increasing the effectiveness of BDS contribution to the European and international standards organizations supporting the interest of Bulgarian businesses, as well as project Overall Goal.

Specific objectives:

Establishing an effectively functioning BDS certification system in accordance with the requirements of the Bulgarian standards;
Active involvement of BDS in the existing schemes for conformity assessment and certification at European and international level;
 Improving the administrative and technical capacity for management and administration of BDS certification system.

1. Support for establishment of an effectively functioning system for certification at BDS in accordance with the requirements of the Bulgarian standards:
Development of own rules of procedure and management of system for conformity assessment with the requirements of Bulgarian standards intended for voluntary certification of products according to the requirements of Bulgarian standards
Development and application of rules of the system in a transparent, open and reliable manner, without discrimination aiming at facilitating the acceptance of the results of certification at European and international level

2. Active involvement of BDS in the existing certification schemes at European and international level
3. Improvement of the administrative and technical capacity for management and administration of the system and the schemes for certification according to the requirements of the Bulgarian standards.
