Description

Project Number: RFP 2015/14:
Title: Land Use Planning Component/Dibbin
Contract Reference Number: Contract 2015/42
Description of Contract:
The land use planning component of the project is one of the main upstream interventions addressing the integration of biodiversity protection and conservation in the existing planning and management frameworks and processes in the project’s three pilot sites in the Jerash Governorate with specific focus on the areas associated with the Dibbin Protected Area, the Wider Wadi Rum Landscape in the Aqaba Governorate, and the Petra Region.
This assignment represents a key milestone under the second component/outcome, namely the institutional capacities for planning, monitoring and enforcement of biodiversity-sensitive tourism development in the three prime tourism localities, 1)the Petra Region including Petra Archaeological Park as part of the Petra Development and Tourism Regional Authority,  2) the desert landscape around the Wadi Rum Protected Area as part of the ASEZA Region (Aqaba Governorate), and 3) the forest landscape around Dibbin Protected Area as part of the Jerash Governorate.
