Project description:

Logistics is a highly important field to support the economic development of Indonesia. The Department of Marine Transportation, Faculty of Marine Technology of the Technical University Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) in Surabaya is an important player of maritime transport and logistics training in Indonesia.

The project aims to strengthen Indonesia’s capacity to produce qualified professionals that meet the requirements of Indonesia’s labour market in marine transportation and logistics. Specifically, the project intends to address three capacity development levels:

• Institutional development through strategy and network development;
• Organisational development through management and set up of Bachelors and Masters study programmes, research labs and library development in marine transportation and logistics;
• Individual human resource development through staff training in management and improved teaching and research capacity of staff.
