Technical Assistance for Improvement of the Customs IT Systems

The project aims to support the Macedonian Custom Administration (MCA) to improve the customs Information and Communication Technology (ICT) system, including inter alia the following activities: support to the implementation of the identified functional and technical requirements; to fulfil EU interoperability requirements to exchange information with the European Commission-DG Taxud and with customs administration from the EU member states related to the Common Transit Convention; to update the ICT Strategy of MCA based on new Customs Declaration Processing System (CDPS) and Interoperability Implementation Strategy; to introduce the TAXUD Electronic Management of Projects Online (TEMPO) methodology and train staff; and to ensure exchange of information among national administrations and Authorized Economic Operators on EC transit procedures through enhanced inter-operability of the customs IT systems, e.g. New Computerised Transit System ( NCTS) and Tariff Integra Communautaire (TARIC).
