Project title: Sustainable Tourism Model for Exuma Cays

Origin of Funding: Global Environment Facility (GEF)

Detailed project description: Review of models used to monitor and manage tourism in sensitive areas, including their degree of implementation and usefulness. Consultation with the Exuma Cays tourism sector and local community, visits to various tourism sites and assessment of their current condition and visitation. Development of a model that covers four dimensions of sustainability: economic; visitor; environment; and community. The model contained approximately 120 indicators and every indicator had 5-6 potential adaptive management measures ready for use. Development of an implementation plan and budget to assist implement and operate the Model.
