Description
Client: Ministry of Construction & Housing/ General Directorate of Roads and Bridges
Project Description: The new road construction (Lot 3) encompasses both a 52 km – 6 Lane highway as well as upgrade and rehabilitation of Ibrahim Al-Khalil Crossing buildings.
Investments required include buildings (that is storage warehouse including cooling warehouses, customs building, building for the bank, the police, and fire fighting facilities).
The activity will provide weighing bridges, and two scanners for entry and exit. ESIA study will primarily consist of the following main phases:Inception,Preliminary data collection and scoping,Impact analysis, project alternatives, institutional needs, environmental & social management plan, and report writing (including ESIA capacity building for the client) ,Final ESIA and public disclosure ESIA study will introduce the following information:
- A comprehensive project description.
- Policy, legal, and administrative framework.
- Environmental and social baseline data.
- Project alternatives.
- Environmental and social impact analysis and mitigation measures (including institutional needs and resettlement concern) .
- Environmental and social management plan.
- Final conclusion.
