Project details:
The EU-Cofinanced Project “Building together – Community Monitoring and Adocacy” is implemented by Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung e.V. (through the offices in Belgrade/Serbia and Skopje/Macedonia), Macedonian Lawyer Association (MLA) and Atina – Citizens' Association for Combat Trafficking In Human Beings and All Forms of Gender-Based Violence (Serbia).
Objectives:
The overall objective: Improved position of refugees and other migrants, especially children and women in local communities in Serbia and Macedonia.
The specific objective: The cooperation between Macedonia and Serbia carried out by KAS, ATINA and MLA develops participatory community-based mechanisms for continuous monitoring of and advocating for the implementation of effective integration and protection policies and services for migrants, especially women and children
Target groups: 1. Professionals from local institutions and community based CSOs and migrants, especially the most vulnerable groups (final beneficiaries). Their main role is to act as watch-dog at community level for the protection of human rights and for integration in specific. They will be part of the local community networks and be involved in all activities related to the development of monitoring mechanisms, capacity building, and sub-granting; 2. Decision-makers on local and national level mandated with migration policy and social protection/inclusion. By addressing national institutions, professional and activities, the project will ensure that findings and recommendations from the local level are further reported to the national level and reforms are initiated (role: `initiators for change`).
