Description
Study-action project for the implementation of a European-type suckling cows development programme based on French technologies and genetics.
The Georgian Ministry of Agriculture wants to give the country and its inhabitants the opportunity to consume quality meat and to reduce the protein deficit identified in the diet of the Georgian population. The country is now engaged in a process of recovery of its agriculture, which requires mainly to increase the herd so that the country will no longer depend on imports. The country mainly imports 35% of its beef consumption (source: Ministry of Agriculture). The French know-how in livestock farming and coordination of its sectors is well recognised and a French technical support is required.
This study shall cover the choices of livestock systems, the technical and commercial support, and the identification of areas that are technically favourable in terms of weather. Downstream is the implementation of project that aims at satisfying the self-sufficiency of the Georgian meat production.
